MT5 Copy Trading: How Performance Should Be Measured

Written by Ivaylo Barovski · Aurum Prime Elite Signal Provider

Learn how MT5 copy-trading performance can be measured using return, realised profit, equity, win rate, profit factor and drawdown.

Realised profit

Realised profit comes from closed qualifying trades. It represents completed trading results, but it does not show current floating profit or loss.

Strategy equity

Strategy equity combines defined starting capital with realised results and current floating P/L.

Return

Return should be tied to a clearly defined starting capital and measurement period.

Win rate

Win rate is the percentage of qualifying closed positions that finish profitable. It should be interpreted together with the size of wins and losses.

Profit factor

Profit factor compares gross profit from winning trades with gross loss from losing trades.

Drawdown

Drawdown measures the decline from a previous equity peak. Periodic equity snapshots can provide a more realistic live picture than closed trades alone.

Aurum Prime Elite calculates its website performance directly from its MT5 strategy data using a defined strategy start and recorded equity snapshots.
