What Is XAUUSD Copy Trading?
Learn how XAUUSD copy trading works, what is copied from a signal provider and which risks followers should evaluate before using a gold strategy.
What does XAUUSD mean?
XAUUSD is the market symbol commonly used for gold priced in U.S. dollars. It can move quickly around macroeconomic news, interest-rate expectations, inflation data and changes in risk sentiment.
How copy trading works
Copy trading connects a follower account to a strategy or signal provider. When the provider opens or closes an eligible trade, the platform can reproduce that action in the follower account according to the platform's copying rules and the follower's settings.
Copying does not remove risk
Following another account does not guarantee the same monetary result. Account size, leverage, execution price, slippage, copying settings and available margin can all affect outcomes.
What to evaluate
Do not look only at headline return. Review drawdown, trade frequency, position sizing, realised results, open exposure and the length of the track record. A short period of strong performance is not evidence that the same result will continue.
